The scarifice of praise

Psalm 34 :1
A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.

I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

I was listening to this sermon and God really speak to me in a very powerful way. I think back in the days at Jurong West. Frankly speaking I miss those days very much. In Expo is good but still fall short of JW in term of the presence of God. In the past, Pst kong will mainly preach about our relationship with God. Now Pst Kong preaches about Cultural Mandate and also relationship with people. Those self help sermons. Sermons that build ourself up. Praise God for that but still I miss sermons on our life with God. Just like 3 years ago, Pst Kong preach about the Sacrifice of praise.

Do you cry when Pst Preaches? I did in JW b4. While I listen to that sermons, my tears row down for a hour. Is just keep flowing and flowing. Presence of God was very strong. The background music and the preaching draws down the presence. Even in audio MP3!! That was how anointed JW was. So far in expo seldom will I experience that kind of feeling.

I remember 1 weekend in 2004, Pst Kong preached on Fatherhood - God, as a father loves to us. Again through out the preaching I was about to explode in tears. During the altar call times, Pst was laying hand on a group of people, I remember the atomsphere was like God in the midst and we were in the comfort of God. I kneel down to worship. Beside me was my ex CG member and other was a brother whom I do not know. The more I worship the more I cry. That was the ONLY time till now I cry like a baby. I mean I really cry. After service, I was tired not because of fatigue is because I cry too "hard" le. My eyes was very red. On my left and right, was the same. 3 brothers crying because of God's unfading love to us.

In Expo you can never experience that. Like what Pst Kong said during the overnight prayer meeting, the services now was all in a rush. Every section must be "Chop - Chop" de. There is no time for us to enter into God Holy of all. Only during prayer meeting in JW, can we have such a tangible encounter.

In the sermon, Pst Kong preaches that in good time such as you get an A for exams, you get a bonus or things are going your way, you can praise God easily. But if things don't go your way, bad things happen, will you still praise God? You may say is easy, I will de. But trust me it is not as easy as you think.

Psalm 73 :25-26
25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

The very first verse that I memorise.

It is this kind of sermons that people heart begin to melt and soften.

1. I had finish my exams!
2. Holiday starts NOW!
3. There will be no more maths for me!!

After weeks of stressful time, I can now enjoy myself to the max. Don't ask me how is my paper... lol. I don't wish to be remind of. No job during holiday lei. Slack at home for 6 weeks liao. Do ask me out. :)

For the first time, FIR will be coming to City Harvest Church to perform and share their testimony. I think it will be a good time for the friends to come especially the fans of FIR. Can make use of this chance to allow them to experience the love of God. I think it will be a good time.

Well done Singapore!! Singapore will host the 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2010. The result was unveiled by IOC President Jacques Rogge at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Singapore beat moscow in the final by 53 votes to 44.

I could see our dear Mr Lee was so happy and Mr Teo, well also our Mr Vivan. It mean more than Olympic games but $$$ generate through the events. Haha.... But still I am proud of my country Singapore.

Tomorrow will be my 1st overnight prayer meeting after we had move from JW to Expo and I am looking forward to it. Please pray for my Grandma who had just admitted to hospital. She suffered from pain all over her body and I think other old illness. Thanks for all your prayers and concern.

1 down 2 to go for my exams. Hai really have no mood for exam but still got to go through it. Like what WC say it will be over very fast. Just now having lunch with SW. We chat about CNY stuff. Then he told me 1 thing that I was like "HUH.. wa....." He got a cousin who just got married. Chea... nth surprise mah u may say. But his cousin is only 22 years old and the wife is 19 years old!! I mean tt guy older than me 2 years and the girl about the same as me. WTF!!! Then I know they both are from rich family. That guy drove Mercedes! That gal drove a 2 seated sports car! Wa lau. And they get married at such a young age! (As you know my dream is to married at a young age but no $$$) I mean what the F* lor. Haha. I am eating sour grapes la. I admit it. But nvm after thursday, things might(Will) be different for me. Haha if you know what I mean.

I think some of you know where is Lakewood church or heard b4 that church. Lakewood church is located at Houston, Texas. The senior pastor of this largest church in USA is Joel Osteen (The 1 who smile everytime with his white teeth) I saw their service and I was speechless. Their stadium can seat 16000 people. They need to held 3 services to contain their people!! Weekly attandance is about 40,000 peoples!!!

For the past years and more recently the past few weeks, I been hearing and reading about Controversies on churches and pastors. Both locally and overseas. Don't worry I never stumble. I feel perhaps after my exam, I will do a research on those Controversies and read the bible on why Controversies happen to churches and pastors. But usually it is not from the non believers but believers. I just don't understand. The bible say know the truth and it will set me free. I want to be set free or else it will become a burden to me.

Tuesday is my 1st paper le. Follow by thursday and next monday. Till now haven study much. So i ask some of my member to pray 4 me. But 1 person told me prayer without work is dead!! Wa... I woke up to my sense sia. Haha. I was shock. Inside my heart was.... arh nvm lol :) Anyway I will listen to you and study hard for the next 1 weeks. Try can ar? :p

I was pondering for a few days whether to watch the concert. As $70 is a big sum of money to me. But I felt the Lord asking me to follow my heart. So i decided to buy and watch my Love song idol Jeff Chang. His love song will melt people heart. Haha anyway is just beside my church. For his past 3 concert, I have been watching alone. It was a most horrible thing to experience. Hai....


Haha in my previous post, I judge the 3 movies and CJ7 came on top of my list. Indeed CJ7 emerge the top out of the 3 movies in a press release this morning. CJ7 with a hit of $2Million follow by Ah long $1.47Million then Dunk $1.4Milliom. Amazingly all 3 are in the same order as mine. Haha.

Tomorrow........ will be a STUDY day for me. :((

Haha.. CJ7 turn out to be the best of the 3. So now got to wait for the official results on which movie have the highest viewer through out the CNY season.

I went to watch Dunk and Ah long myself just now. It was a marathon of movie with only a hour break in between. Hai... in my previous post I mention sth... just now there were 2 couple sitting infront of me and I look to my left and right and I was feeling so sad. Haha same people different fate. Hai.... Stop thinking of the stupid Valentine day and focus on my exams!!!

After 3 days of CNY celebration, I am back to blog again. Haha. It was all about ang bao and Mahjong. But I met some of my cousin whom I had last seen them and it was a great time of fellowship. This year my luck not bad la... lol because I win money in Mahjong and Blackjack.

CNY will not be complete without good food like the 1 below.....

Although I did not have any love from any girls, but at least I had some consolation prize from my boy and the rest of my kids. Hehe.. I went to look for Ethan then Erin and the rest. Ethan was so crappy. He told me his ang bao this year was not a lot haha. I think not a lot la but a lot as in cash. In the past I just take picture of him as and when I want but now I got to ask permission from him le haha. A big boy already!!

To sum up, this year CNY or valentine day is not much different compare to last year, but I still Thank God I am still around to experience a season of love.

I just came back from Chinatown and Jalan Kayu. I went to see plants. It was my 1st time visiting plant "factory" Through out the stalls in Chinatown, the price was going down and down. Every stall was trying to get rid of their stock by slashing the cost price. Haha... it was so funny to see their anxious faces.

Went to look for Jason and Jian Hui at Vivo Adidas. Came across the offical ball for this year Euro 2008!
