Darlene and her sister Jermaine has been getting close to me each week. I get to know their parents more and more also. They are friendly and fun to be with. Sigh.... 2 more weeks of serving and I don't know when am I going to see my kids again.

My Superstar!! Erin Joy Dunn

Erin was so funny this morning. During snack time, I took a mic to gather all children to thank God for the food they going to have. Erin was there and want to take the mic as usual cuz she loves to sing with the mic. But I say not now as I need it to sing praise to God for the food. So she waited beside me sitting on a chair facing all the kids and parents. Haha after everything, while waiting for the food to be serve, I purposely said to everybody "Erin has a song to sing for us let welcome her..." haha I clap as well as many other parents who are around LOL... I pass her the mic and she was so paisei... SHY... she blush and refuse to sing despite supports from parents haha.. it was so funny la.. LOL =)
Ethan was helping me to pack things into boxes. So when Susan came, he told her that he is still helping me to pack things... with his mummy around, I got to be careful la haha I told Ethan that you have help me a lot already and is time to go home. Susan told Ethan.. you can stay with teacher CK and he can bring you back to Jurong West later... haha.. if I drove today I will say no problem haha can get to go Ps Derek house.. what a honor?? Hehee

There are 10 books that is require for all SOT students to write a book review based on how the book impact you and how you can apply into your life. I just finish all the books and this book was my last book to finish. It is a very good book for Evangelism. I highly recommend it for all of you guys especially to those that want to be an effective witness to all your friends and family members. Enjoy my review and pardon my Grammar mistake. LOL

This book is loaded with practical application that Christians can almost immediately put into practice. In addition, the book offers helpful tips on sharing your faith in succinct and compelling ways, and really hammers home the theme of 'authenticity' and evangelism as a process, rather than the gospel raid approach that presses immediately for a decision and commitment to Christ without doing much of what is needed to truly resemble authentic and caring evangelism. The Bible commanded us to not only love God but people. In this book it really encouraged me about the difference approaches to spreading the faith. Everybody had different ways of doing evangelism but that does not matter. The most important is the end result and also we need to be a contagious Christian who’re learned to work within the design God has given us. It is about being ourselves and finding the identity. One of the greatest mistakes a believer can make is to renounce or repress his God-given uniqueness in a vain attempt to appear more spiritual. This really teaches and impacts me a lot. I really need to be a real Christian and not go around faking to be holy and spiritual so that I may be relevant to the society and keeping my spiritual discipline.

Sometime because of various societies, it is very difficult to talk about sensitive issues like religion. To win people to Jesus is not as easy as it seem to be. Yes, Jesus gave us the Great Commission but how are we going to raise the topics of faith when our personality is having some problem with people. It is going to be very hard to relate to people. I learn in this book that once we understand that the most important business in the world is the people business, we need to live, pray, love, work, give and serve differently because we’ll preoccupied with people and their needs. Is no longer about me but others. It is about investing into people life.

This book is filled with practical examples and information on how we do evangelism in a more effective way. The one thing that I am going to start doing is that I am going to be a friend to all my friends as real and close as possible. To influence people over to you before to God, I need to be really in their circle of friends. I need to start to develop trust and communion with them by meeting their needs and be with them as much as I could. I agree with this statement that the fact is all of us experience discomfort when someone outside our circle of friends tries to influence us about personal, significant matters. We all naturally gravitate toward people we already know and trust. If someone whom I am not close with came and tries to influence me over something, I will get very annoy. I can see this in an angle of the unbeliever in whom we are reaching out to. If I am to impact the people around me with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the most effective approach will be through friendship. I pray that God will start to expand my capacity to care about the difference individual and that we have their best interest in mind. I believe over time that will earn their trust and respect.

Interesting conversation with Ethan

I was talking to Ethan just now before SOS Bible study starts. He was eating his dinner. Erin was sound asleep on the mat. I warn those older boys to be careful and not to make too much noise. They like don't care about me... kids now are hard to handle. Especially Primary school kids like them.

Anyway they are going back to America in ard 3 weeks time. Which mean I have only 3 weeks with them and I'll be away from ministry for a very long time. I have decided to serve the remaining weeks I have. After all this year is my 4th year in ministry. Which mean Ethan is 6 years old le. Next year going to be Primary 1.

He will be studying in an International school and class with start around August for him. I ask him if he is feeling excited. He gave me a big smile! I guess he is feeling excited. We chat a bit then he ask me to stand up. I was curious so I stood up and he say "you see look how tall I am now compare to u." LOL

I think back 4 years ago, he was just a baby boy with little hair. Now going to Primary 1 next year! His hair is long and is getting taller. I think back and I see him now, he really grow up together with me. He is going P1 while I am going NS. He use to greet me teacher CK BUT now he just say hi or hello... informal kind haha.

It is really one of the greatest achievements to see your students grow up to the next stage of their life and move on. Javier too... haha. Gonna try to take picture with them before they leave for USA while I leave for Tekong =(

A Great Sermon

Here’s an old poem by Edgar Guest that's worth reflecting on, especially for all of us who teach and preach others ...

A SERMON
I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day;
I’d rather one should walk with me than merely show the way.
The eye’s a better pupil, and more willing than the ear;
Fine counsel is confusing, but example is always clear.
So I’d rather get my lesson by observing what you do;
It is not enough to preach it, you must live the sermon, too.
For I may misunderstand you and the high advice you give,
But there’s no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.

My Dancer LOL

This coming week will be an important week for me. There are Morning prayer and classes with Ps Kong. My heart is full of expectancy for a mighty move of God. Time is running out for me so I got to maximise the time I have with church friends together. Not forgetting my lovely kids hehe.

Still cracking my brain for message that will transform life. Not to boast around la... since after the mock CG test, I did well for my preaching thus it set a standard for me during my preaching test... so I need to do far more better than my mock CG. Creativity + Revelation = Transformation messages!!

Just had my class gathering as some of my friends are going into NS in the next 2 weeks. We were at Sakae Sushi for 2hrs++ LOL... I ate a lot. Haha.. gaining all the weight I lost since I came back from Paris.

Suddenly feel there is a longing to go back to the days at Poly. As I depart from them there was some emotion running through my heart haha well after all we were friends for 3 yrs. Life is progressive and thus got to move on.

A few more of such gathering to come in the weeks ahead of me. =)
