Life beyond yourself....Last night, I was watching Joyce Meyer's show on the Internet. This week is a historic telecast through out America as Joyce Meyer ministry shows the biggest crusade ever done in India. India with a population of 1 Billion people! Guess what? only 3% are Christian. Although their 3% is far more than the population of Singapore, it is still a pity sigh to see the nation of India fading away from Christ.
Joyce Meyer ministry begin their journey to India for mission work. After watching the 1/2 hr telecast, I felt the Holy Spirit was telling me be contented of what you have and a life beyond yourself. Most people in India live in slum and the living condition is very VERY bad. I guess many people can imagine that. In the show, I saw many sick people from young to old. Poor family who sold their daughter to the brothel for money. Woman in the sex industry, most of them were being force and they do have kids. Their kids grow up in a environment seeing all the things that were dirty and immoral. 10 years ago, there were 3000 sex workers in Mumbai alone but right now there are about 300 of them. Thanks God for Joyce Meyer ministry and other organisation that help the people there. The world is so big, you will never know where to find people that is struggle through life. Yes.. there is so much we can do but the least we can do is to sow a seeds to Ministry that the Holy Spirit lead you to and to pray for them.
Joyce Meyer ministry build new houses for about 50 families. In the day time, she and her teams go round villages and help the poor and needy. At night, the crusade was lead by HillSong and Delirious in Praise and Worship and preaching by Joyce Meyer. Thousands of people responded to the altar call! Amen. Close to 1 Million people turn up for the crusade! Jesus gave us the Great Commission. We need to do mission and get them save but I believe that we cannot just pray for revival and get them save when they are dying. When their life are perishing and they do not have a proper place to stay. For what you do mission when you don't help them???
Our life is not just our studies and work and CHC. All this are important. I feel that we need to open our eyes big and see the people around the world that need help. You may say that I can't even help myself how can I help other? I agree. So I always pray I will be prosper and my life will flourish. I don't have much now but I choose to start small. Beside all the building fund, offering and my tithe, I sometime sow to Joyce Meyer Ministry. My conviction is that I sow to those ministry that helps the needy people in those poor country and not just spreading the gospel only and doing nothing to help their life. I usually don't sow to non christian organisation. Not because they are not good but I feel I should sow to those ministry that save souls and help souls. Maybe you have different thinking so I say we need to be lead by the Holy Spirit. The bible ask us to pray and bless Israel. At the end time, God will judge us base on our attitude towards Israel. So I sow twice to Israel through Pst Ulf Ministry. Although is just a few bucks but is a good start and a seeds is sow. I believe those seeds will eventually turn up to be a fruits. Yeah!!
The point I want to say is let us don't just pray the things that is happening in your life or your church. Pray for a bigger picture. CHC is not everything. Read about works done by other ministry that have different vision as us. We are all a body of Christ not just our own church. The bible gave us the Word not only for CHC but for all church and ministry. I just see too many people living for themself. I am sick and tired to see people bound by legalism and just can't be flexible. We are bound by grace. The Holy Spirit lead us. We should live beyond our self.
